General Health

If you are a non smoker, social drinker and generally in good health then your dental implants are likely to be successful.

There are however a number of health risk factors that include:-

Oral Health

The success of dental implants is closely linked to your general oral health and hygiene.

Active disease notably gum disease can negatively impact the success of your treatment. Routine recall for regular maintenance with an experienced hygienist is an absolute must. You should also have your implant regularly checked.

You should also have your implants checked by a dentist who knows what to look for when things start going wrong. The surrounding soft tissue must be checked and also very importantly the bite which is dynamic and can change significantly over time.
